Moments after Donald Trump announced that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) would be his running mate in this year’s presidential election, social media users reacted quickly.
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Vance was “the person best suited to assume the position.” However, many pointed out Vance’s past negative statements about Trump. (Vance has since admitted he “was wrong” about Trump.)
Additionally, people expressed concerns about Vance’s record on abortion, the Jan. 6 insurrection, and his general authoritarian principles.
